On 16 November 2015, Dr Katrín Fjeldsted, CPME President and Dr Rafael Laguens, FVE President, signed the CPME-FVE Memorandum of Understanding, which aims to strengthen both organisations’ co-operation framework.

The Memorandum of Understanding sets out an interprofessional co-operation framework to jointly act in recognition of the ‘One Health’ concept[1].

One key area of collaboration is Antimicrobial resistance. The rapid increase of antibiotic resistance constitutes a serious public health threat and necessitates a joint response, both in human and animal health. FVE and CPME also agree to collaborate on issues relating to professional regulation and other cross-sectoral policy areas such as the on-going negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

The Memorandum of Understanding is available here.

The video of the signature is available here.
